Celica 140 Exhaust Ok On A 190 (T Sport)?

Hi,

The exhaust on my T Sport has started to blow, when I called my local exhaust place they said there was no part listed for the T Sport but the exhaust supplier they use said a 140 exhaust would be fine.

This seems a bit dodgy, they have said they will fit it and remove it again if it doesn't work but I anticipate that the car will still run with a mismatched exhaust I would just loose power. So proving it doesn't work may be difficult.

Does anyone know what the truth is?

Regards,

Andrew

You can fit a 190/TS/GT exhaust to a 140, but not the other way round.

IIRC, the 140 is 2.25 diameter piping, and the VVTi-L 2.5".

Many thanks, that is very clear.

I need a new exhaust but I don't want anything noisy or massively expensive. Toyota want £400 for a replacement box.

Anyone know of any alternatives?

Thanks,

Andrew

Is it just the rear section you're looking for?, if so, there's a member on celica-club.co.uk offering one for free as he now has an Audi TT. As he travels all over the country, send him a PM about meeting up.

Many thanks, It is just the rear section I need.

I am going to have the old one welded as I need the car back on the road even if it doesn't last that long.

I will also look on celica-club.co.uk but I am not a member so don't know if I will be able to contact him.

Thanks again for you help.

Regards,

Andrew

140 is 2" and 190 is 2.25"

when going aftermarket on a 190 you then usually go up to 2.5" piping
