Album Art

My touch screen wasn't displaying any album art when playing music files from a data stick, just the image of a treble clef. The same music files are on my sony mp3 player and the album art displays on the screen on that and both were synched using windows media player (all the album art displays in the library view on the PC too). I've managed to get around this so others might find this useful. I noticed that if you change the folder view settings in windows so it shows hidden files you magically get to see that in every album folder there are some files labelled album art (small and large). If you simply copy the music onto the usb stick by either drag and drop or file-copy rather than synching with WMP it also copies over the album art (but only if it is visible by turning on the "show hidden files"). Having done this the album art displays on the touchscreen in the car for every track.

Nice one.

Thank you very much for that info.

I will try that with my system.

Interesting, which type of Prius do you have? My gen3 T3 shows a little graphic of a USB stick all the time, not a treble clef. Not being on home pc means I cant check to see if album art pics are in my system or not, but they are def not on my usb stick.

Mine is a Prius Plus T4 but with the upgraded touch and go with navigation (although not the JBL Greenedge) July 2013 model.

My Prius Plus T-Spirit shows the album art on any albums that are on the Gracenote database, without the "show hidden files" set on the USB stick or the PC. The Gracenote database is updated when you update the Nav system.

What I numpty I have been.

As I have the Gen 2 Prius T Spirit with JBL system, I forgot that I don't have a USB port fitted.

As I only have the AUX jack there will be no Album art or anything else.

However using MP3 discs I get the album name and track details showing on the screen.
