Car Won't Start

1999 Avensis petrol. Car cut out on road. Fuel OK, no spark, but ign power to coils and ECU are ok. I am getting no switching voltage at either crankshaft or camshaft sensor. Anyone any ideas.

hi ive just had that prob with an escort .... they got it started by pulling the plugs both under the dash and in the engine it started right away but thats the only help i can give u only it dose become a nightmare

Could well be a faulty alarm/immobiliser or a blown fuse on the IGN. circuit

There are two parts to the ECU, first there is a chip at the ignition switch, if this is gone your ecu will still show in good working order, had the same problem recently.

£135 for a replacement from Toyota.

hi ive just had the same prob garage told me to turn my key quick a few times and the car fires up ok but this is temp its now being fixed at mo .
