How Many Auris Hybrids

Another poster got me curious about the specialist nature at least in terms of numbers of Hybrids sold. If you look at the Audi A3 it's about 30,000 sold a year although I'd like to narrow that down to how many Audi A3 Automatics (if there is such a beast?) for a fairer comparison with the Auris Hybrid.

Just in the Auris Hybrid there do not seem be many sold this year up to March 2013 (bad winter sales or is it always like this during the first quarter). More T-Spirit than T4, which kind of surprised me.

I think that, for whatever reason, these figures are for the first generation Auris Hybrid.

They certainly don't tie in with Toyota's sales increases for Hybrids - http://www.toyota-europe.com/about/news_and_events/editorial/buoyant-q1-sales-hybrids-2013.tmex

Think the 2013 Hybrid figures (Quarter 1 2013) on 'How many left' are here: http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/toyota_auris_excel_vvt-i_cvt and http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/toyota_auris_icon_vvt-i_cvt#!newreg

Ah thanks, of course they changed the name, sneaky.

The UK accounts for 4.8% of Auris Hybrid 2013 sales in Europe up to March? I don't know whether that is good. Sales up 82.3% year-on-year, anyone know what how they calculated that one?

The answer I am really looking for is how many Hybrids on the road compared with every other car? :canadian:

Where I live about 1 in 10 is an Auris Hybrid. Still that might be because I only live 2 miles from the factory!

I have only seen 1 other Auris Hybrid (my generation...2?) on the road in the 2 months i had my car..... in fact it is the only other generation 2 i seen (i could tell it was a hybrid as it passed me again today and i heard that familiar milk float sound)... so i would say 100% of Auris's in my area are Hybrids :D

Incidentally the new names (T4, Spirit etc) used now are the Icon or the Excel

The SMMT info is for new registrations - which only tells part of the story - and the year to date (to July) figures for 2013 show that hybrids (petrol/electric and diesel/electric) achieved 1.2% of new car registrations. Petrol/electric vehicles are currently out-selling diesel/electric by a ratio of about 9:1.

Which still doesn't answer the OP's question.
