:D As u can guess from the title, i have managed to secure a phat new job with a large construction firm and im guarrenteed an extra £14k than what im on now. Time to go car shopping!!! I'd love a tubby but im only 21. whats the insurance and running costs like? Im 21, clean licence in a low crime zone for private use only. Cheers, Dan

Not sure what it would be like on the tubby's, but im on a 16v n/a, 5 points, no ncbonus, £1300 TPFT from elephant.

loads of people were quoting me in a range of 1800-2500!!! so £1300 i thought was quite good.

sheeeeet, i must be an angel from insurance heaven! I 'only' pay £837 from Norwich Union for my UK 92 T-bar. Would i be wrong in thinking tubby cover would be circa £1500?

if you can afford 20mpg, 83p a liter (Optimax) and an oil change every 3,500 miles .. buy it ..

yeah... I can't really use any boost at the mo cos my clutch is dead ( waiting on a new one.. but I won't go into that much ... FENSPORT ! )... erm... lol

I seem to be getting better mpg ... lol :D

20mpg is only in Jest .. on an average tank I'm gettin 22 mpg .. I've had as low as 8 on a nice summers day and country road ..

£30-35 usually ges me 220 to 250 miles in a uk spec. not sure about other servicing costs, wont they be similar to a GT-4's?

For me £35~£40 gets me 200~220 miles ..

And the servicing isn't the same as the GT4, cause Mr T like adding a %ags cause it's an import, and also things take more time on an MR2 cause if the lack of space and the fact a lot of jobs are engine out ..

if you can, find a good garage you trust and know. Cos Mr T will ripp you off !!

I only use MR T because it looks good when you have all these toyota invoices etc for the cars history when you come to sell it at a later date

Fuels not tooo bad then, :D but what sort of jobs are engine out? only things i can think of are clutch and bottom end work? Starter motor perhaps?

I get about 210 average @ 40ltrs(full tank) with mixed driving with my current power level. Thats farking good considering the power im pushing out. Because the ECU has made the car more efficient. The most amazing difference is on motorways.

I now get better mpg than when I had the stock ECU@260bhp.
