Importing An Ae86 From Japan

I am considering importing a minter of an ae86 from Japan, every time i go on yahoo japan I start drooling at the condition of the cars + I cant be ars*d paying over £3000 here for one. I need help, how much do they cost, import duties???, etc,etc, Im sure someone here has good contacts in japan.

price of car plus shipping (call it £500, should be less)

add 10% duty to the sum of those too costs..

add 17.5% VAT onto that

140 to get it registered

90 to tax

40 to MOT (assuming it passes! watch out for tyres and lack of fog lights at the back)

Think thats about it???

I heard they are or have changed the importing rules.. so its has/will get harder and more expensive to do :(

older cars don't need the homologation..

I want to import over a '47-'53 chevvy pick up for hot roddage :)
