The area is bigger as the filter is physically bigger but you can see the quality and distribution of the pleats.

I have only ever bought aftermarket Pollen filters, I figure they cannot do any damage.

The plus side is they are considerably cheaper and so far seem to do an ok job.

Nice demo.

It reminds me of a range of filters I was shown, back in the mists of time when companies just about still attempted to train their own youngsters.

It was a demonstration of different standards of "reverse engineered" aftermarket products and counterfeiting, just to make us aware of how much bother such things could get us into if we weren't diligent enough.

One filter had nothing more than cottonwool as the filter material inside the cartridge.
