Hi JAPCAR,

car running ok now with no knocking even when warm. i gave it another Italian tune up. I have a can of carb cleaner at the ready if it starts again. I'll probably check the EGR again in spring. Also running on BP fuel so hopefully that'll help.

Have you done anything with your car yet?

Cheers

Paul

Hi avensis06,

No I didn't make anything yet.

Sorry for my incompetence but what is Italian tune up?

I asked before:

" how much is just injector (without labor)? How much would be all injectors fitted?"

I mean if you know at the garage where you did the job, I don.t know how much would be at Toyota...

Generally, in your case which cure solved the knocking issue? Was the one injector replaced?(your opinion)

Cheers

Italian tune up is exercising the car through the rev range getting it nice and hot and try and burn the carbon build up and blow everything thing out.

For four new injectors you will be looking around 2.5k including the programming and any ecu updates. Single injector and new crush pipe is about £500+labour

Unfortunately in Toyota I've been told that on 1AD engines are installed two types injectors and to see which type is, needs to remove them...For one type is possible to change single injector, for second type just set of four...
