Auris M/m Clutch Failure

I have a 2007 Toyota Auris TR automatic that has done about 37000 miles and the whole clutch needs replacing at a cost between £1500 and £2100.

I understand this is a common fault so does anyone else had or know verifiably of any other such cases?

It seems that it affects the first year models and particularly low mileage cars although this could be coincidental.

The system seems to be not fit for purpose and there fore not of merchantisable quality.

I welcome any constructive comments on this topic .

£1500 - £2100 is way too much for just a clutch, the parts and labour involved in fitting a clutch to an MMT is only a little more than a manual. Your costs would appear to include the shift actuator.
