Gearbox Issues

Hi

I'm new to this group but having read some of the posts on the forum and seen how helpful it is, I felt I had to post.

I have a 2002 Rav4 2.0 D4D and have suddenly lost 5th gear. There was no build up to this, it just suddenly disappeared, there is no rattling and all the other gears are fine.

Has anyone any knowledge of this problem ?

A competent motor engineer or gearbox specialist should be able to fix it.
