Fuel Check Valve ?

Hi all , hope we are all well.

Had another car electrician ( someone who I trust , as he's my cousin ) look at my hot starting today.

After plugging in his snap on scanner , it showed a drop in fuel pressure when my hot engine is turned off.

It drops from about 220 down to zero in about a minute.....he reckons a may have a check valve ( non return valve) not working properly.

If there is one. ....where is it please ?

The fuel pressure relief valve is in the common rail Jamie but I think the fuel pressure could probably subside back through the pump. See if there is another you can compare.

it must be belong to the rail system -- it is normal for system operation to release diesel pressure and prevent leaks into the cylinders, if any issues with injectors.

Ok....thanks Don Igor

I'm going to employ the services of a highly recommended diesel specialist in our area shortly. They are recommended as they are a decent reasonably priced outfit.

I will get a diagnosis first, just to find the true fault. Then decide whether to spend or not.

Or then refer the diagnosis to the Toyota Dealership whom I paid to sort it out in may.....

THAT could be interesting,as the dealership head of business said if it still wasn't right they would do all they could to help....with no further charges.

I have to admit .....the Rav does now start but that is only due to the new starter & good Yuassa Battery, but the way it starts on a hot still isn't right.

And I really need it done ready for the winter.
