can someone please help.i would like to buy new wheel bolts, have searched everywhere online with no success.i will not buy from main dealer as they want £8.90 per bolt which would make £142.40 for a set.toyota should hold their heads in shame at this price.this only started because i wanted to fit 4 locking bolts and i thought i would replace all to make the wheels look good.the cost of bolts for other small cars ranges from £30 to £45 pounds and are freely available for other makes and models but not a 2012 aygo. below are pictures of my current bolts.

Try searching for Peugeot 107 & Citroen C1 they are all the same car and the bolt setup is a PSA thing as all other Toyota's use a stud and 19mm nut set up

At £19.99 for the full set (ebay) I doubt the material quality is very good! The eBay vendors mention the fact that the bolts are grade 10.9 vs. grade 8.8 used by competitors. Before using aftermarket wheel bolts it is important to find out what grade Toyota use. Grade 8.8 bolts are more likely to deform (rather than break) as compared with 10.9 which are less ductile (more brittle).

Also the 10.9 bolts will need a higher torque. So, if the original (OEM) bolts were 8.8 and you fit a set of 10.9 at the same owner's handbook recommended torque – you are not getting the same clamping effect.

My recommendation is to fit only OEM bolts unless you know for sure that the aftermarket bolts are good quality from a reputable manufacturer, the same grade and therefore require the same torque (preload). There is a lot of aftermarket stuff available and a lot of it is poor quality. Be careful what you buy, especially if it has a load bearing application.

I agree - the rusty wheel bolts aren't too pretty. I fitted 3 each chrome effect plastic covers to each (alloy) wheel on my Aygo Black and left the locking bolts as is. It actually looks ok and is a great improvement on how it looked before.

if you can find a company that can chrome plate then either get your bolts chrome plated or ask them if they have a buffing / polishing machine to clean the heads up for you.

at work we have a scotch brite wheel on our bench grinder and it polishes metal up in seconds to a mirror finish

Have you thought about trying a Citroen or Peugeot dealer, same car and wheels basically and might be cheaper.

I have had to settle for chrome caps as the the bolts are not available anywhere.Speedshack in west drayton came closest but could only get them with a dacromet finish which looks awful. The bolts for peugeot & citroen are the same type and u can get them anywhere but the thread pitch is 1.25 and toyota thread pitch is 1.5.The dacromet bolts had i wanted to purchase them would have cost me £31.84 for 16 bolts ; locking bolts were not available. The £142.40 that toyota wanted to charge is one hell of a massive RIP-OFF.Message to all wheel bolt suppiers please get some these bolts in stock (see pics)

Came across the following http://www.c1oc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5651 on the C1 forum - PSA were charging £134 for a set of C1 bolts in December last year, and would need to be ordered.

The same topic mentions these Peugeot 107 wheel bolts which may be closer to what you were looking for: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290438445141

Those eBay bolts are spot on to the ones fitted to my Aygo sport and can confirm the thread pitch is the same as Peugeot, I know as I fitted a second hand hub/bearing a few years back and that was from a Peugeot, and my Toyota bolts fitted fine .

looked online at a number of sites and the peugeot bolts have a thread pitch of 1.25 and toyota bolts have a thread pitch of 1.5

Same eBay seller as post number 13

On sites I've looked at today which are selling the 1.25 thread pitch bolts, where there are model listings, the compatibility runs across several Peugeot/Citroen models (eg the 1007, Saxo, 106, 205, 206, etc) - models which are not built as part of a joint venture with other manufacturers.

Given that the Aygo, C1 and 107 are made in the same Czech Republic plant, and that they will have a large degree of component commonality, I would suggest that this sharing of components would logically stretch to having the same wheel bolts.

This site seems to support what I'm saying, as they state the 1.25 thread pitch bolts are NOT suitable for the C1/107/Aygo, and also sell 1.5 FOR the 107/C1/Aygo - http://www.ruracing.co.uk/subcategorylisting.asp?Id=188

Have also seen today a Citroen dealer advertising a set of OE Citroen locking wheel bolts for the C! for around £9 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Peugeot-107-Citreon-C1-Locking-Wheel-Bolts-940531-/321129582291
