Replacing Avensis Seats

Hi, I have a 2001 Toyota Avensis D4D. I have had the car for over 7 years. It is running great, the only problem I have is that the driver's seat is slowly crippling me! On journeys anything over 30 mins, I now find it quite uncomfortable.

I would like to replace the driver's seat with a more comfortable one. I have checked around a few breakers/scrapyards for direct replacements. The other seats I have seen from the same T22 model seem no better than what I have. I have seen a nice pair of front seats from a 2003 T25 Avensis. But the mounts are different.

Has anyone got any experience of modding the T25 seats to fit T22? Or can suggest any alternatives? Thanks

Take the seat out and pack underneath it with layer(s) of carpet or similar, in between the springs and the foam. I did this once on a Montego and it made the seat like new.

Thanks - I will try that first and see if it helps. I would still like to know if it is possible to fit the new seats though?
