Hi everyone i'm new here I needed a bit of help I recently purchased a second hand sat nav from eBay for my toyota auris 2011 model I have attached a picture of it its the B9030 I fitted it in on Friday once Ii was all fitted I powered my car up and I got a message on the screen "Program cannot be read please consult dealers" and a Japanese message underneath that if I press the eject button the screen will flip down but it wont go back up if I press the close button I even tried to hold down the power button to turn it off it wouldn't even do that I got it with 4 disc you can see in the Picture I tried to put them in even that didn't make a difference even my audio don't work I just have to sit there with this message on the screen nothing else. I called up the dealers they said book it in for a service we will have to diagnose the problem we will charge you £66 if its half an hour or £132 for a hour depends on how long it takes them to figure out the problem. I would be really grateful if someone can help me.

Hmm, I'll try as I have this one in my car but I don't know as much as you will need.

I take it this is a 'new' install and not a replacement ?. I am sure you won't have made this mistake but there are two slots - one for the Nav DVD and the other for the Audio CD - apologies, not trying to insult your intelligence, just don't want to assume. Looking at your symptom I wondered if the DVD is not being read and that is why it can't find the program. Doesn't sound good and I wonder if you have been unlucky and sold a faulty unit.

I suspect there is a different model number that this is known by rather than B9030 - something that begins TNS. Wish I knew but haven't been able to find another number, the manual doesn't mention any number.

Those are my thoughts to try and help you. If I find out any more I will let you know.

Best of luck

Peter

When the nav powers up it needs to read a navigation disc which contains a boot file in order for it run normally. When the message appears insert a navigation disc into the map slot and wait you should see a yellow progress bar running left to right and the system should then operate. If it does not you have either a faulty nav disc ( dirty , scratched etc ) or faulty nav unit ( dirty or faulty lens )
