Keeping The Mkii

After three months of surfing the web and going to lots of dealers, I have come to the conclusion the the MKII is worth more to me than she is on the open market.

So I am now open to sensible ideas of what to do with her. I am very new to the modding scene and not sure where to go or wht to do with her.

Immediate jobs to be done are as follows

1. re-new valve seals (she blowing blue smoke under heavy acceleration)

2. Deal with minor rust spots and respray (she is 20 years old after all)

3. Possible revamp of interior seats (if i can find some to fit on original runners)

she looks like this at the moment

or this

So hit me with suggestions, all will be considered, but please bear in mind the money issue, i dont have a lot.

If I had the money I'd buy her :( really want a mk2.. and either white or black are the colours to have!!!

Instead of fixing up the old engine I'd be tempred to run iut as is and save up for a newer engine to drop in, bear in mind I got a 7M-GTE with ECU, loom, downpipe, turbo, all ancilleries, intercooler and piping, oil cooler and piping delivered for £650, and it had only done 70K miles!

Could always dump a 2jzgte in like the dude i read about in the states!

Apparently quicker than a stock mk4 because it weighs less.

That guys my hero

2jz is still a posibility for my mk3 (loads eeasier to fit too!)..

the only thing thats stopped me is that I have found sucha damn good deal on another 1G-GTE engine!

Thanks for the advice peeps.......stock seems to be the way to go as she is getting older the more she is worth if in full stock condition.

does anybody know of an interior set of seats that would fit straight onto the original runners eg celica or newer version of the supra. (fm scrappy etc) having seats recovered too expensive

Celica Gen6 or Supra MK4 seats should go in no problem. Just measure your runners and look at them when you see them
