I've got a 60 plate Aygo Black with approx 13500 miles on the clock.

The car has had two sets of brake discs and pads in the last 14 months (under warranty) - just before I bought it and recently at the first MOT.

The reason was quoted as brake disc corrosion (on the back side - not visible). I must admit that I was beginning to hear some increased noise from the brakes before the MOT.

I can accept that low mileage cars are more likely to suffer disc corrosion but having been a car owner since 1965 and, having owned lots of cars over the years, I find the Aygo brake experience a bit unusual.

I intend to keep the car long term as it's only a runabout and does the job perfectly - my wife uses the other car! But, I don't want to be changing discs and pads every year or so!

I am wondering what experience other members have had using non-Toyota brake pads or aftermarket discs? One member has already helpfully commented in another post about EBC Greenstuff pads. Has anyone else got anything to add that may be helpful??

I fitted EBC rotors & EBC "Black" pads on my Aygo.

I was happy, so a year later, I fitted the same to my wife's Aygo.

They still rust, but not as badly & not as deeply.
Braking feels identical.
They don't seem to be lipping yet, so I can only assume they'll last longer.

The primary reason the backs pit so badly is probably due to them being

very open to the elements as there is no shield fitted.

Bought them from EBC online. Arrived well packed & quickly.
