Yaris Pannel Light Overide Switch

Hi All

I have an early 2010 Yaris 1330 optimal drive. When you turn on the side or headlights in rain the instrument lights dim to a point where we cannot easily read the speed. On our old 2002 Yaris we had a override to turn the instrument lights back up to full power. Search as I like in the manual I cannot find this feature on the 2010 car,

Anyone got any ideas where to look?

PS I know I have misspelt override in the title.

If I remember correctly you can toggle the light intensity of the display(bright/dim) by using one of the two small buttons, on either side of the cluster, with the lights switched on.

Unfortunately I can't remember which one!
