Recommended Posts

Posted

To balance things out a bit on this forum I have started this post, my best personal IQ features are:

1) 70 + MPG (on my 1.0ltr Manual)

2) 5 star N Cap safety

3) 9 Air bags

4) Ease of driving IE "Drivability"

5) Great "Turning Circle"

6) Low running costs in general

7) Zero UK Road tax on the 1.0ltr manual

8) Low insurance costs (mine is less than £140 Pounds Sterling PA)

9) Parking ability

10) Unique design

Positive Regards,

Bob.

Could not agree more Bob... :-D

But unfortunately the freedom for road-tax will stop in Holland on the 1st of Januari in 2014...

Probably the economy for me, Going from a 4.6 Range Rover at 15mpg to a car that does 50+mpg is a pretty good saving not to mention the £30 road tax.

Other than that it's just the cutest car out there, no question. :)

I have also done the same IE gone from high cost gas guzzlers to the IQ !

1) Great execution of groundbreaking design (that's what really stands out for me)

2) Turning circle & general manoeuvrability

3) £20 tax on multidrive 1.0L

4) So far not much difference between fuel economy of manual 1.0L & multidrive 1.0L

5) Always surprising in a positive way

£20 tax, I thought the 1.0 were zero tax?

I pay £30 as the race driver in me came out so had to buy the 1.3. :driving:

110 g/km emissions on 1.0L multidrive so £20

99 g/km emissions on 1.0L manual so £0

PS - is it just me or does anyone else find navigating this forum's software counter-intuitive?

Right, Didn't realise there was a such a difference in emissions with the different transmissions.

I did test drive a 1.0 manual when I bought my car but went for the 1.3 mainly because of the 6 speed gearbox although I do find that bit notchy at times especially when cold?

I've only had the car for 2 weeks. For me, its best features so far are...

Zero road tax

The turning circle

The 'fun factor' feeling I get when I drive it - it's like a go-kart with a roof.

The fuel economy - 50mpg from a 14-year-old car isn't bad.

The ease of working on it.

I don't even care that my son laughs at me 🙂

Certainly, the low/no tax and low insurance.

The MPG, whilst not amazing, is far better than my previous Lexus RX300.

Things like the photochromic rear view mirror are just brilliant.

All the usual things, the seats are comfy, it's relatively quiet - especially with additional 'sound deadening'.

It looks different!

Feels reliable.

Warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

I did...

Add additional sound deadening, all-season tyres, had the 4 front Speakers upgraded, subtle window tinting, LED sides and replaced the dipped bulbs with newer halogens and used Lanoguard underneath.

And the idea of 9(!) airbags is amazing.

I used to joke about that being their tactic to get a higher NCAP rating

"Toyoda-san, the NCAP results are in and we scored a respectable 4 star-"

"FOUR STARS?! UNACCEPTABLE!! We must have FIVE stars!"

"But ho-"

"I know! ADD MORE AIR BAGS!"

"But sir we've already filled the car with-"

"I don't care! Put them everywhere we haven't put them already. In fact put them everywhere we HAVE put them!"

"Genius sir!"
