How Long Does It Take...

Hi Guys,

I'm almost pulling out what hair I got lwaiting for my Blue Prius delivery next Thursday.

Had a thought on my way home this evening (noticing every noise my diesel makes!) and just wondered how long it took you to get used the different driving experience. Or are you still finding out things?

Really am serously looking out for the rear camera view options, any of you chaps know if there's any options available as yet? I've checked out coastal dave's site, but hasn't appeared yet. Just wondered if there are any other sources.

As time goes on I get more mpg. Had mine for just over 3 months now. Now I drive with gradual acceleration, I get up to speed then feather the throttle and I anticipate having to slow down and do it gradually. Smoothness is the key.

All common sense if you want to save fuel but the Prius rewards you much more than a 'normal' car.

Hope they deliver yours this time round!

Is it any different to driving any automatic, the style you describe is how I drive my Hiace purely because I am a miser for fuel, and because I like to think I am clever enough to try anticipate coasting opportunities, now if they did an MPV style prius I could be seriously tempted

I heard rumour of an verso prius is this true??

It is different from a 'normal' automatic in that it is a continuous drive and there are no gear changes. Also there is no kick down facility, so you don't have that ability to drop down a gear for faster acceleration, although you can go into 'B' mode for engine braking - useful when you are going down hill.
