Apexi Power Intake

As you saw in all of my earlier posts..

I am really worried bout warranty and damaging my "to-be-born" yaris..

its a new-out-of-the-box-from-dealership t-sport, and i dont want to harm it in any way..

so... ive looked at the induction kits test, and saw the apexi is the best..

my questions are:

1) can an induction kit cause damage (ie. sensors, engine)

2) will it void my warranty?

3) if it does voids a warranty.. can i just take it apart and put back the standard airbox&filter before my "visit" to the garage?

any other tips will be appreciated.

1) possible in the long run if using a crap filter but apexi is a goodie

2) shouldnt do no

3) if your that concerned then do that

I am also looking into buying the same induction kit, with exactly the same worries, my T-Sport is fairly new and I don't want to blow the warranty.

Looked into how I can remove the old box, that looks easy: <_<

Remove the clip to the main intake hose, upclip the topand remove.

Take out the old filter and the body can be reoved with the three bolts at the bottom

Air intake can be removed by a seperate bolt.

What I cannot work out is how the two air check wires attached to the top will be discarded, work on the induction kit.

Any advise from here ?

In fact how does the Induction kit fir in the t-sport, facing forward in place of the old box ?

I have a couply of persons state warranty is not effected can any one say NO for definate.

How much power does this induction kit provide over lets say a replacement in box filter from K&N or TRD ?

Yep, you get instuctions with it mate. I have to say that they aint the best though.............. anyway its a piece of cake to fit - a monkey could do it!!

As it happens i think im the only one thats managed to fit the 'second' bracket so far! (you'll see what i mean when yours arrives.........)

Oh. It voids the warrenty on the engine. So take it off b4 u go to the garage. So does the Exhaust if u change that. A friend of mine is a Toyota Mechanic in Glasgow.

Splash out and get a Blitz Sus Power. Not the **** one but the one below a Sonic power. Thtas what i have. Rules.

wont it suck all the hot and dirty air from the engine?

Ur rite it will suck in all the hot air which is why u should really get a heat shield but people don't usually get these 4 performance, they get it 4 the sound!

I used 2 love the sound but mine has no sound now - i think i need an exhaust!

Cheers

Pull the "black tube" out of the air box and remove the original air filter. Get a 70mm hose with a 45 degree bend and put it on the end of the intake and connect it to where the "black tube" was. Thats what I did anyway.

So the intake actually ends up in the coolest part of the engine bay which is good

I'll get some pics up this weekend...
