Mild Concern Re Tyre Wear

If these !Removed! tyres only last "20k or less", Mrs. Bridgestone herself better phone ma wife and explain/apologise........I will be the chubby chap in the background with noise cancelling headphones on..........

Concur with noise remarks....last few thousand miles on my SR180 were spent on Hokoyama Advan ST80 summer tyres.....almost silent compared to these and brilliant wet or dry grip.

EDIT........CONFIRMATION.......ALL 4 tyres have 6mm tread, measured at 3 different sites each tyre.

The word pish does not even cover it......7300 miles....? 2mm of wear......?

Perhaps someone with a new 4.4 that has just been delivered could measure their tyres to see what depth of tread it starts with?

The Geolanders on our RAV was 8mm but the Continentals on my Aygo was only 7mm.

I remember Kingo saying it does vary....

Oh ... I just did just that even before I read this post! :)

One week old and 485 miles on the clock and my Bridgestones have only 7mm left on them ... exactly 7mm all round!

:D

[Must get a piccy of the new car onto the avatar!]

I hate to say this, but ......... 7mm tread to start with is what I suggested on page 1. So if you've only used 1 mm of tread in over 7000 mls on such a heavy car, that's not unreasonable. But like folks have been saying, each tyre brand wears at a different rate.
