2Ad (2.2 D4D 180) New Engine Oil Consumption

Hi,

Had my engine replaced by Lexus under warranty about 5,000 miles ago and the car appears to have used about 800ml of oil. Is this normal for a new engine? The manual says a new engine will consume more oil - cheers

that would give you roughly 1l per 6.5k which is well within spec for the engine. I wouldnt worry about it. Just do the basics of keeping an eye on the level weekly and top it up with the correct oil

Cheers buddy - just worried about the dreaded carbon build up from oil burning, but as you say it's not excessive. Good thing I bought a litre of Castrol Magnetec 5w30 C2 in Asda today for £5!!
