i have a complete hks hiper muffler sytem on my car with single

exit pipe and h&s de cat but not that immpresed with exhaust

note...anyone got one on their tubby and think its good??

it just seems its not that noisy(i want noise) and am thinking

of changing it for something else.i know i can get things for

the tailpipe to change the note but think this would spoil looks.

anyone got advise on which system to fit or want to to a trade??

I'm using an Aussie downpipe straight into an HKS Super Dragger... that with the HKS Racing Suction induction and HKS SSQV BOV all make for a very nice noise!

I was tempted to go for the TRD exhaust, but that is slightly restricted to keep noise down.

If you want outright noise, my mate is using a full Scorpion system on his and sounds a bit loud! The exit pipes are very TVR'ish.

my mate told me that someone at his work lives on my street. His neighbour is going to complain about the noise my car makes... lol

Is there anything he can actually do ?

Hehe...same exhaust as me but Im stock from the cat back. Basicly the HKS Hiper is pretty much the QUIETEST aftermarket exhaust you can get for the MR2.....hence your dissapointment :P

If you wanna make it louder just ditch the 2nd muffler and put in a straight peice of pipe....that's where a lot of the silence is made. Ditch that part and everyone will know your comming ;)

theres a noise level jim its 74dB for a car. if ur cars above that then yes i 'm pretty sure they can make u take it off / quiten it. that also means u'll havta go thru an mot again.

Noise Level

EQUIPMENT NOT SUBJECT TO NOISE LIMITS

look at the 2nd url there's a nice little loophole (?)...

It says cooling equipment on vehicles is not subject to noise limits...

wonder if u can blag ur BOV being cooling?

you you want a loud farty sounding exhaust get a peco big bore 4.

HKS is still one of the best xhausts you can get, I have one on my supra, and a mate of mine has it on his MR2 tubby. as its steal construction (not stainless) it has a resonance benefit and deliveres a smooth low sound.. not an offensive farty raspy sound, like your average modified saxo!

argh noooo..my peco days are long gone.may have to modify

the hks one and fit a smaller box.dont think it sounds

much diff to standard, also its a few month old and the

paint is flaking of it and looks bad.for what i paid

for it i hoped that would not happen.

My bro has a HKS hiper muffler and I tested it with a DB tester when his car was de-catted and it was over 130db...sounded like a damn motorbike!. The Hiper muffler is designed to be silent when driving on fixed rpm (like on motorways) and below 3000rpm. But on full accel its damn loud. The Hiper is actually the loudest system in the HKS range and produces the best power gains (out of the HKS range) as it has hardly any bends in the cat back pipework.
