Problem With Getting The Car Rolling

I cannot for the life of me figure out whats wrong with my car and was hoping that someone here could help out.

I have a 2001 Corolla and for the past two weeks or so ... when I start my car ... it starts up just fine ... but then even when I step on the gas ... it doesn't start rolling. It takes maybe 5 or 10 seconds of me stepping on and off the gas for it to get rolling. Once rolling it runs just fine. Also, this doesn't happen each time I start the car .... only maybe once in every 10 times or so.

I took it to the dealership and they said that unless it acts up while there ... there's no way to tell what could be wrong.

Has such a thing happened to any of you before? Or would you know what might the problem be?

My car has about 61,000 miles on it ... and I just recently got the 60k service done.

Any help would be REALLY appreciated cos I don't want the problem to lead to a much more serious thing.

Thank you very much !!!!

Edit: I forgot to mention ... my catalytic convertor has gone bad and the dealer is gonna fix it for me next week (I don't know if this has anything to do with the problem)

Have you tried putting it in gear?

Only joking mate.

Does it only happen when you BOOT IT?? It maybe the clutch slipping like mad!

A mate of mine had a similar problem with his car (not a corolla). It turned out that it was some problem with the fly-wheel.

Dunno if this helps?!
