Whenever I switch off the car and open the driver's door, there is a little buzzing noise that lasts about 1-2 secs. Haven't been able to figure out what it is.

Any ideas?

Ancs' is certainly, but are both these vehicles "smart" entry?

So, you're not hearing the electric steering lock engage are you?

After switching off, without opening the door, if you then wait a couple of minutes, do you get the same noise?

Spot on, shcm. My car is T&G and when I hit the start button I get the same brief sound. Clearly, it is the steering lock dis-engagiing/engaging.

Pretty obvious (once somebody smarter points it out, of course!!).
