Old Newbie ~ Never Too Old To Learn!

Good morning.

Having last night followed my own pathway instead of following forum rules I do apologise for getting off on the wrong foot by airing my dirty washing on this page. Apparently we men don't follow instructions ~ 'can't understand why my wife says that! :lol2:

Anyway, I'm BruceK and my wife & I have 2 Toyotas. Hers is a sad looking 53 Corolla Verso T Spirit, an economical diesel car which I think has a really good design (shame it's let her down recently) and mine's a Mk4 Hilux pickup, which is a big boys toy an essential workhorse bought from my neighbour as a Cat C insurance writeoff, replacing the damaged tub with cut down one from a Transit. My excuse for keeping the Hilux is that we're going to do some building work soon and I'll need it to carry 'stuff'. I reckoned that if the Clarkson team couldn't wreck one like mine then it might stand a chance with me. My daughter won't travel in it though; she says it makes me look like I'm like a door-to-door tarmac salesman ~ 'can't imagine what she means! She loves the Corolla though; so much so that she recently borrowed it and took it on holiday to France with a group of friends. I wonder if that's why.............(see my post on the Corolla Club forum).....but no, that would be unkind!

To be honest, though I'm passionate about my Hilux, I do find the Corolla a bit tinny in comparison so don't drive it very often. The best car I've ever owned in 46 years is a Volvo V70 which, at 250k still has clear oil..... wrong forum!

Thanks for reading this and for letting me join in.
