I only found out after by accident they were "show plates"...

Let's put it this way, now I know what happens, it won't be me who pays the fine, and has a sore ear !!

Jolly friar, they just stick on with 3M tape which was already along the backing. Just have to make sure you put them on correctly first time or you will be well stuck. Pun intended lol.
