Cvt Owners - What Do You Do?

OK - I pick my new car up on Friday.....

Question:

On the motorway when using Cruise Control do you go into manual mode and ensure that it's in 7th gear (virtual gear) ...or do you just let it sort itself out..as in the revs / engine will just do its own thing....

Just wondering that is it better to lock into 7th gear!

So what do you do ??

I just leave it to do it all for me. You'll have the hang of it by the time you're half way home with it on Fri.

Not sure if it's the same if you use the gear stick but if you use the paddle shift to change gear after a while it reverts back to auto mode anyway so unless you keep moving the stick it may not make any difference. I leave mine in auto mode most of the time and find it will only downshift if I accelerate hard or meet a steep incline.

After I have picked the new car up the missus and I are travelling up to Scotland and coming back on Monday....I will let you know if it goes back into Auto Mode...
