Hi Guys, afew months ago i posted that my avensis had a bit of hesitation on heavy acceeleration and was also cutting out at junctions etc.......

The cutting out was cured by replacing the SCV valves which by all accounts seems quite common..

Car is running well except for this hesitation going up the box if you try to give it too much welly.

EGR is new...Air Mass Meter changed...Boost Pressure Sensor Renewed...Tank Cleaned out and pump in tank replaced....Intake Manifold off and cleaned also

Any ideas anyone cos i'm STUMPED

People are saying possibly the Throttle Body or the Throttle Positioning Sensor but no codes are available as a starting point.... ANY SENSIBLE ideas would be appreciated..

Thanks John Thomson

Sorry I can't help with advice but would ask some questions:

You said "replacing the SCV valves".??? This engine has just one SCV. 1CD engines have two...

Why you changed so many parts? I mean EGR and MAF are very easy to clean on this engine.

What is this hesitation, what engine speed and load? Would you describe with other words.

Some off topic:

- Where are Boost Pressure Sensor and Throttle Positioning Sensor ?

- Is it easy to remove/clean Intake Manifold?
