Toyota Approved Warranty

HI All,

My very first post here. I have a 57 plate Avensis which I bought as a toyota approved vehicle a year ago and then bought extra warranty on top of the 1 yr warranty. I got my car serviced from Bosch, who claim that all the work they do is strictly based on factory recommendations and would not affect the warranty. However I have had a letter from Toyota saying that they have cancelled my whole warranty because of this service.

Not sure if anyone else has has a similar problem, any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks

The one year extended warranty stipulates that servicing must be done at a toyota dealer. If it was the original manufacturers warranty then getting it serviced at Bosch using the correct parts and schedule would have been fine.

Exactly what Phil_1985. In the terms and conditions it states that the car must be serviced at an approved toy dealer or service centre to maintain the warranty. This is differnt to the block exemption applying to new car warranties where as long as they use oem equivalent parts it will be intact

All about the buyer being sure of what they are purchasing.

Toyota are upfront about their extended warranties requiring servicing by a Toyota dealer at least once a year - taken from Extended Warranty FAQ on the Toyota website:

"Service & Repairs
What does Toyota expect in return?

Your car must be serviced and inspected by an Authorised Toyota Service Centre at least once a year or more frequently for high mileage use, as set out in your service record booklet. Regular servicing means your car is safer, more reliable and more enjoyable to drive. It can also help to increase the car's value when you come to sell it. Book a service online today."
