Drivers Seat

Hi.

I have a 2012 avensis 2.0d4d since new. Been a good car overall but not trouble free. Im looking for feedback regarding the drivers seat which just doesn't seem right. When I sit into the car the lower section of seat moves back and top section out. The headrest is also rattly on poor roads at slower speeds. The dealer tells me that this is a safety feature of the car as does the owners manual. To me the movement is excessive and makes for uncomfortable long distance driving.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

This certainly doesn't happen on my 2010 model, one of the most comfortable seats I've been in and definitely no rattles. Try sitting in another one at the dealers to test the difference and perhaps try another dealer if you feel you are getting fobbed off.

Sorry, bit of a zombie thread, thought I'd resurrect it

I've owned a 2008TR, 2010TR, and 2012T-Spirit model. The 2008 model was comfortable, the 2010 model was better and one of the most comfortable cars I've owned, the 2012 model is possibly the most UNcomfortable, whatever Toyota have done they've screwed it up! (along with most everything else)

Assuming though that they have used the same basic seat in the 2010 and 2012 models, the only difference is one had cloth with manual adjustment, the other has leather with electric adjustment.

Having had a 58 plate Avensis & my current 2011 I can say the previous had the better seat. I ve done over 100000 miles in the current & can feel bolts or similar sticking through which I ve fitted a seat cover to cushion it. My passenger seat is also prone to squeaking & my head rests do rattle a bit. None of these problems in my last car.
