Gear Linkage

Hi All

Bought a Avensis three weeks ago

Toyota 07 Avensis Estate T180 D-4 D Tourer , Leather/ Alcantara with Sat Nav. Drive it for two days and the head gasket's blown. The good news is Toyota paid the bill £3.500.Now the bad news one of my Gear links have snapped two days after having the car back from Toyota.

Toyota's saying nothing to do with them so i'm now left with a £600 bill.

So my question to all Toyota fans does any know how or where i can find some instructions on how to replace broken Gear linkage's as they come as a pair .

Thank you in advance

Dave

HI, Welcome to the club... Enjoy :driving:

If you look into the engine compartment on the nearside down by the bulk head you will be able to see 2 gearbox linkage cables, with a bit of luck you have lost one of the retaining clips which is an easy and cheap solution.

Morning Raistlin

Yep found the clip sadly the clip's off due to the stem from the manifold as snapped off :disgust: .So going forward parts have been ordered from Toyota Birmingham at the cost £460.What I'm looking for is some sort of mini film on how to do the job .I've been on you tube with no joy. But still love the car what a pain.
