Converting 2001My Front Indicators To Clear

Hi guys, has anyone converted their Rav4 Mk2 front indicators to clear ones? My wife's has clear lenses with the orange shade over the bulb. I've done a search, but found nothing.

I was debating whether to split the unit along the seam and cut the orange shade off, then regluing it, or cut the shade from the back of the unit with a soldering iron and pull the bits out with long pliers or frenzied shaking! Bit of a faf I know, but it does preserve the factory seal on the 2 halves?

It's a fair clart just to get rid of the fried eggs, but it's my wife's and her wish etc!
