yes it should, i'm guessin urs doesnt work, mine doesnt either but it did once upon a time :D . I traced it down to the switch, since not even the beam level control works...

So off to the toyota garage for a replacement switch.

bulbs gone in mine too recently. Is it a case of changing the bulb or the whole switch.

:D Fanx peeple!

Yeah, mine went recently, the adjustment works, but it dosn't illuminate. I thought something was diffrent!

Does the console have to come off to replace the switch? (I know how to do this; 2xbolts, 2xscrews) ....or do you just lever it out?

Anyone have a main dealer £price on this item? ....suppose I should put up with it until it actually fails......but you know how these things can bug us! ;)

Fanx again

Gus.

This is what i did, I wrapped a flat head screw driver with a cloth, and stuck it between the console and the edge of the switch.did that 4 all 4 corners of the switch and it popped out.

My beam adjustment switch has a bulb holder just like the one in the central locking, rear foglight, A/C, hazard, and rear defogger. Once you get the switch out of the console, you remove the trim piece from it which exposes the bulb holder (looks like a small plastic screw head... turn it 1/4 turn counterclockwise and it comes out). you can get a new bulb from a local electronics store (Radio Shack carries them here in the States.... I believe that's Tandy to youse guys :) ). I'll explain the bulb replacement itself if you'd like... just out of time right now.

Don't need a screwdriver to get the switch out. I just put my finger into the gaiter that the handbrake goes into and pushed it up from there. The bulb itself does look replaceable, just got to find somewhere that sells them.

I rang up my local garage, and asked them how much a replacement switch would cost, they quoted £47, just for the damn switch!!!!

Read my above post.... you do not need a new switch! It'll take maybe 10 minutes of your time to replace the bulb, which will probably cost you £2 for two of them at the very most, and while you're at it, you can replace other failed bulbs (such as rear fog light, A/C button, etc.).
