Scratches In Rav Door Panels

Hi again,

Just had an email from my missus to say that someone, obviously with no respect for a new vehicle, has dragged their shopping trolley down the side panel of our RAV4 ( the insert halfway up the doors ) in a Sainsburys car park.

Has anyone any ideas of how to get the scrape out or is it a new panel job.??

I'm particularly miffed as the car arrived at my house brand new a month ago and I haven't seen it yet as I am working offshore here

Thanks

Mick

Hiya Mick, obviously depends on the depth of the scratches but Ive used "Colour Magic" on a number of my cars to cover scratches and its worked a treat.

The touch up stick you get with the bottle allows you to "fill in" the deeper scratches and build up the colour magic on it to stop corrossion setting in.

This needs to be done ASAP after scratch to stop the process starting tho...

Hope this helps

Look at it first and if it hasn't dug in you will be surprised whjat can be polished out by a local body shop.

I always lecture my Mrs to park in the most remote part of the supermarket car park as you will often get some careless/envious ******* do that kind of thing.

Off shore may have saved you a night in a cell if you caught somebody!

Good luck

A tried polishin the gouge created when I reversed the old mans punto in the driveway against the previous 3SFE engine delivered fur ma RAV. It did kind of work, but wisnae enuf tae convince the Fiat dealer oan the trade in price, so we're stuck wi the Punto fur a few years yet. Ahm thinkin oa getting the Punto roughcast tae hide the blemishes - at least it wid be different...???

Ahm jist trying tae add a wee bit of shumor intae the strings. Gaud knows things are diificult enuf up here wot wi the english stealing wur oil

OK so here's the truth according to Abraham....and apologies to any of you whit micht be o a relijus backgroon :

God wis making the earth an all its countries. Beside him wis his right hand man - Gabriel.

God came to make Scotland an he formed it wi lovely mountains; deep lochs; fantastic scenery; gave Scotland oil under the sea and coal under the ground.

He made salmon to swim in the river and lovely purple heather to grow on the mountain top.

He filled it wi warm gentle people.

Golden eagles to fly in graceful tranquility.

Aberdeen Angus cattle tae supply the best of meat.

And Gabriel said unto God:

"Is it not unfair that you give Scotland so much?"

And God replied - "Wait til you see who I give them as neighbours..."! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Me? I come frae Fife. :D :D :D :D

:lol: Ian as I take a shortcut through Strathclyde Country Park in the morning going to work, and I'm sure

you will know the stuff that goes on there, Its a pity he did not stop us getting drug dealers, doggers, thugs, muggers

boy racers and buckfast. Otherwise that nice little piece of Scotland at my doorstep would be a great place for us all.

Instead of it being a no go area for honest family activities which it was built for.

Dave.

PS I love Fife, especially the east neuk, graetest fish suppers in the UK.
