I never do, its to stop sparks from flying when you accedently short out the Battery, its best to remove the positive connector, oh feed the wire through the car before you connect it to the Battery

Ok! ne chance of telling me how to remove the posittive connector or whateva! Also, on amp wiring kit instructions, wen it says disconnect Battery, may need a code or sumthing incase all settins r wiped, something like that! will that happen?

if its the OEM headunit there is no code, if you have a aftermarket head unit and you have but a code on it then you will need to enther the code

lift the red protector on the Battery

use a 10mm spanner to loosen the nut, you may need to tape up the other end of the spanner it it rear to any bodywork

Rule 1

wrap the end of the spanner (the end you're holding) with tape. Basically it's a safeguard so that if the spanner touches any metal part of the car whilst still in contact with the positive Battery terminal, the circuit won't be completed resulting in sparks, short circuits and more importantly damage to the spanner.

black insulation tape, if you dont have GCSE level electronics, or have never done any electrical work then its best to

1 remove the negitive first

2 remove the positive 2nd

3 make sure the is no fuse on the powercable

4 add the power cable to the positive, and attact postive

5 attach negitive

6 run to the back of the car

7 wire up the amp

8 you said its OEM, you may want to add a swich to the remote or live a wire which is live as soon as the ignition is on (I dont know if this is safe, otherwise you might need a relay)

9 once the amp is sorted run to the front of the car

10 fit in the fuse, and test the system

step 3) make sure the is no fuse on the powercable

this mean take the 30amp fuse out of the fuse holder on the red wire which connects from the Battery to the amp?

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

step 8) you said its OEM, you may want to add a swich to the remote or live a wire which is live as soon as the ignition is on (I dont know if this is safe, otherwise you might need a relay)

what do u mean, whats with the switch etc? i have no idea about any of this!!

step 3, yes

step 8, amps have positive and negitive which are always connected

the remote wire(usually blue) is used to powerup the amp, you head unit has 2 positives,

1 memory (always on)

2 live (on whith the key), you can connect your remote wite here (remote wires dont take up more than 1 AMP)

that might be a bit easyer
