:help: Hello all! Tomorrow i am going to see a V-reg imported auto tiptronic 190bhp Celica which i hope to buy. How can i tell that it definitely is the 190bhp model and not the 140? I have had this problem before at used-car garages where nobody was able to tell me! I don't want to get ripped off as I know very little about the mechanics of cars! As a blonde, young female i don't tend to get taken very seriously! HELP!!

Lot of people seem to have had this problem. Easiest way is: under the bonnet, on the engine cover it should say VVTLi rather than just VVTi. The L stands for lift and denotes the 190. Otherwise just take it over 6,200rpm on the test drive and if it seems to pull even more then it's definately a 190... ;)

:P Cool! Thanks for your help. I was aware of the VVT-i and the VVTL-i difference between the two models but hadn't realised that it would be so easy to tell!! Hopefully it will be the right one! Got my heart well and truly set on it now.
