Touch Screen Nav/audio Local Radio Traffic Alerts

Hello all.

After a long and happy relationship with a T3X I've now changed it for a 2011 Avensis TR which I've had for a few weeks now, with touch screen satnav & audio.

Despite pouring through the 250 page audio user guide I'm still unable to turn off the local radio traffic announcements.

Even turning down the volume on the steering wheel dosen't help because the next message resumes at the original volume, and they're often bursting in at less than one minute intervals. There must be a simple solution(?) Can anyone save my sanity ...

Set up > radio > traffic announcement on/off

Thanks, but I think we must have different models, there is no 'set up' option to be found either visually or in the manual (user guide tells me it's model TNS510 )

Further reading though and I think I might (?) have cracked it. It's 'Mode' then 'TA'.

Sounds so simple, but it gets lost on this old un with such a huge number of options!

The manual for mine doesn't tell me which model number it is, I just assumed it would be the same. Goad you got it sorted :)

One other small thing on a different topic for this new owner. My previous T3X the average mpg display used to re-set itself after refuelling, so in effect you were getting average mpg per tankful. When I refuelled this one it didn't appear to recalibrate, just kept on with the already established figure which was quite poor (showing 27.5 with an almost full tank when I collected it from the dealer - I'm assuming someone had been giving it some heavy right foot - now reading around 35)

I guess it 'should' reset on refuelling - no one wants to know average mpg since it was new!

Or is there a way of doing it manually?

Use the steering wheel button to scroll to average mpg, then hold the button to reset it. The average speed and time elapsed can also be rest this way. There is a "settings" option on the same menu which can only be accessed while the car is stationary. Try there for a setting to "reset mpg after refuelling". BTW this is also where you change the time/date, and whether you want the display in Spanish or not.
