Rav4 Key Fob

Hi, I have a 2006 XT4 and both of my keys still work but the Plastic has gone on the 2 buttons and I have to push my finger nail in to get them to work.

I have looked on eBay and they all look different to mine with either 4 buttons or 2 on an angle.

Has anyone else found a suitable key/fob to swap the electric's over to replace them.

on the internal electrics it says Denso 12BBY.

Thanks

Nick.

This ones a bit cheaper at around £3. You swap over the internal module and blade so you don't need to re-programme. Take care in removing the old immobiliser capsule - it's easily damaged.

Thanks for the replies, what's the best way to remove the immobiliser capsule mine looks like its glued in?

I usually cut as close as possible to the chip with a craft knife. Then apply a few drops of cellulose thinners a couple of times and leave overnight. This softens the glue and you can then carefully remove the capsule - no need to clean it thoroughly.

UPDATE, well I have managed to get my new key from eBay removed the chip by melting the plastic with a soldering iron (bit rough I know) just been and had the blank cut this morning it t works perfectly. Total cost a staggering £5.40p so I think I can afford to do the spare key as well

Thanks again and Merry Christmas :)
