Central Locking Issue/hickup

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum, I just picked up a 2010 Toyota Aygo Blue for my run around, I havent got any pictures as of yet, as it was pitch black when I got home.

anyway, I've noticed when I got in the car to go to work, I finished my journey, got out the car, clicked the lock button on the key, but it didn't lock, the car made no sounds of it locking at all, and the car was still open.. I had to click the unlock button (even though the car wasn't locked) and THEN press the lock button, and it worked fine.

Can any1 shed some light on this issue please? :)

Thanks very much

I don't really know but wonder if it needs a new Battery in the key fob.

Thanks for the reply mate!

I have suspected the Battery in the key, but I just wanted to see if it was anything else.

No problem: for my RAV4 I bought the Battery from Amazon

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0045ERXE8/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and followed Anchorman's instructions from the RAV4 site

I haven't changed the Battery in my Aygo yet so not sure if it is the same!

Toyota dealer would be happy to do it for you but unless you have bought from them will probably charge more than the 80p cost of the Battery.

I hope this sorts out your problem.

Cheers,

David

Thanks very much for your help mate, appreciate it, I picked the car up yesterday, I bought it from a peugeot dealer, and the guy told me ive got just over a year of a Toyota Warranty, so maybe I could get it fixed for free :)

i'll try a new Battery first, and if the problem is still there, I'll take it to a toyota dealer.

Mine did that after a few years, swapped the Battery and five years later all is well ;)
