Broken Snow Chains Stripped Paint Off Springs, Rust?

As said, on my way up the mountain using snow chains, the ones on the right wheel broke off! at one point and I had to continue so I patched them up using some metal links but on the inside part of the wheel, a couple of rogue chain links were hitting/rubbin on my KW springs. After I went home, I discovered they stripped a bit of the yellow paint off the right spring.

Is this a concern? Will they rust?

Should I spray paint over them or don't bother at all?

Sun was shining, so I lifted the car up, took my paintbrush and painted the kw with black metal paint where it was scratched.

While the car was there also replaced a couple of broken plastic fasteners in the wheel arches.

case closed!
