Has anyone fitted an ecotek (www.ecotek.org.uk) to their yaris? Just ordered one so i will give you guys some feedback. Anyone know of the best induction kit? Will the ecotek and induction kit produce flat spots and need the ECU remapping?

the ecotek induces clean burn its basically a one way valve that lets air get sucked into the inlet manifold from the opposite to the airfilter and intake and where these two airflows meet you get massive turbulance which suspends the fuel better creating a better more efficient burn as there is more oxygen around each fuel particle.

If anything it should reduce the possibility of flatspots as ALL the fuel will be getting burnt equally rather than hitting conditions where there is excess fuel at any time which chokes the engine creating the flat spot.

I fitted one to my 'rolla and had mixed results, i managed a run from north Devon to Southend on only 1/2 a tank of fuel :) but i reckon the filter is getting clogged as my massive MPG is nearly normal again now, i didn't bother with the little filter, so i need to clean it out and get one :)

After fitting the induction kit you may need to richen your fuel mixture slightly to cope with the better airflow, K&N rule the roost with induction kits because you can clean them with water, and re-oil them and the stuff required is available off the shelf unlike some other 'poncy jap' filters IMHO. ;)
