Which Gearbox Do I Need?

I have a 2005 55 plate Avensis 2.2 D4D. It's done 143k and the gear box is coming to a slow demise. It jumps out of 5th and is starting to give me problems in 6th. I've spoken to 2 different places and they both recommended a new gear box. The question is - which do I need? A quick look around the web tells me I need a 2AD FTV, but when I found one on eBay it said it was suitable for the 2006-2009 models. Can anyone much smarter than me offer any advice?

Is the gearbox you've seen on eBay the later six speed gearbox?

Hello,

your car IS the 2006-2009 model so yes it is the correct one, it's just that your car was the first of the facelift models registered late 2005 with a 6 speed box, all the 2.2d4d have a 6 speed box so no worries there then.

regards

Pete.
