Rear Side Light Problems Yaris

I got a strange problem on the rear side light yaris d4d 2006 I thought the light went but when I tapped the it then it will go back on, I change the bulb but the light comes on but sometimes it doesn't????

Sounds like a poor earth or loose connection.

I check all the connections and it seems ok, The only other thing is where the block the wires jointed together could be faulty

Is the lamp the wedge type? If so try opening out the little wires a bit in order for them to make good contact in its holder.
