Drivers Seat Belt Slow To Rewind.

Drivers seat belt is getting quite slow to rewind. The belt is not frayed or anything. What could I do to aid this at all? Was thinking of a little silicon spray where the belt enters the pillar.

Avensis year 2006 (56)

Cheers.

As the mechanism ages, ridges in the spool of belt material could be building up when the belt rewinds - similar to cassette/VHS tapes when ridges used to build up in the spool of tape sometimes affecting the tape playing/winding.Try fully unwinding and letting the belt rewind slowly a couple of times.

HI Frostyballs,

Tried the full out slow in several times to no avail/. Will try a little silicon spray later....not enough to make wet, just the slightest amount.

Baby wipes to clean the belt. When the belt is fully out, try a bit of the spray inside the mechanism and slowly retract in and out
