Any ideas where I could pick up a live so it turns on when my lights are turned on? (Not on all the time)

So do you want to find it inside the car, or on the outside (under the bonnet)?

I don't really dance taking the dash apart to be honest..... So under the bonnet would be good....

its going to have to be coming of either of the lights be it rear or front :(

If you need this wire inside the car, tap ILL+ wire of CD player (10 pins connector, pin no.10 - green wire); CD player is very easy to be removed, it has only 4 bolts, M6 with 10mm head.

Another option is tapping cigarette lighter illumination, also green wire; pull firmly by its pannel in order to get acces at wires.

Cheers Karl !

Another place where ILL+ can be found : remove steering wheel column lower cover (with bare hands, and with a small screwdiver release the captures near backside of steering wheel) so you can notice spiral cable connector, 12 pins, black colour; the wire is also, green one, pin no.12.

Under the steering wheel column cover also, you can find steering sensor for traction control; even you don't have this function (sensor is not present, of course), connector is there hanging in its wires - in my case is an white one with 10 pins but only five wires connected.

Instead of this white connector is possible to be a black one with 5 wires connected at.

So, my car has that white one, yours may have the black connector.

You need IG+ wire blue coloured, pin no.1 for white connector or pin no.4 for black connector.

Good luck !
