When I go over a speed bump it makes a horrib bang

Its very slow

And ticks over very loud when stuck in traffic but quiet when driving

There is 126 thousand miles on it

Any help would be great

I hope it didn;t cost much ... sounds like at least 2 MOT failures!!

For your washers (MOT failure), does it sound like the impeller is trying? (could be fuse, knackered impeller, blockage in bottle/intake filter / jets or a loose pipe) ... just work the problem through logically

For your loud bang, sounds like a ball joint or bush past it's best ... should be an MOT fault... not usually expensive, but needs addressing!!

loud ticking when idling might be ok ... usual diesel injector sound .. difficult to tell from a description.

Slow ..... pretty subjective, it is a diesel.. key thing is about how smooth the acceleration is ... if it's painfully sluggish, maybe with black smoke, could be a blocked EGR valve ... if your lucky a 15min job to clean ... unlucky an expensive replacement.

Gearbox noise, if it is usually ok, then perhaps not end f the world... always worth a gearbox oil change ... might be worth checking out your clutch... it's hydraulic, and a leaky slave cylinder can make it unpredictable.

I'm amazed to hear all of these problems for a Toyota... sounds like your describing a Morris Marina ....
