Cabin Hiss From Avensis Brake Pedal

I have a 2002 1.8 vvti petrol with 136k miles. For a few years now I have had a hiss inside the cabin from the break pedal which is intermittent dependent on vacuum build up and brake pedal use. Does anybody else have the same or experienced the same problem?. Apart from fitting a new servo unit is there any way of curing it. Has any one replaced a brake servo unit on an avensis and was it relatively easy?

Isn't that just normal for a servo assisted brake system?

no it's not normal unfortunately. you will have servo assist on yours and your cabin will be very quiet. If you develop the hiss then you will certainly notice it.
