I just bought a 1971 toyota corona mark II...1800 (usd). 58,000 miles with original creme/yellow paint. I just wanted to ask if anyone else on this forum has a corona and what problems I might be facing. Thanks alot! and I hope to have alot more post and maybe some pictures soon. Summer's comming so ill be working on the car alot.

Projects for summer

1) new taller high flow filter for the carb.

2)new header and exhaust (built by my friend and I)

3) new black vynil top (the current one is avacado green and cracking)

4)possibly a lowering job (but only if I can find coil overs and leaf springs, I'm not one for cut jobs)

thats all I can see for the future short of an engine swap, which will come eventually. Any helps or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot!

 nothing but goodness! Im in the process of dynomatting the car and then the next project will be getting it a little lower to the ground. After that i just have to wait till the engine blows and get a new one, im thinking the tranny will go before the engine, its shifting a little rough; either one will give me an excuse to put in a new engine so now all i have to do is wait. Did you get the sedan or the coupe?

Well, I've made a decision, nothing will be done to the stock engine. The 1st project for the corona will be new engine, now I enlist the brilliant minds involved in this forum to help me decide what to put in it? SO I ask for your suggestions, please help with some ides for a the powertrain as a whole and a good (<--understated) suspension.

thanks for your help!
