Hi all , I have a 04 Yaris, and cuts out intermittently, sometimes when driving sometimes when idling, maybe once a week, there is a chatter of a relay, engine cuts out, all dash lights come , car starts up straight away, when you turn off ignition and back on again, any ideas, I want to give the car to my mother, but obviously not until this is sorted

Further developments on this problem, had it on computer and computer cannot diagnose fault, I suspect electrical problem, because when it dies, I just turn key again and away it goes, no turning over as if it was a fuel problem, just fires up straight away, any one had this problem

I suspect you have faulty idle control valve these have been known to make chattering noise's when they are failing and unless the valve is dead it will not show on a diagnostic check.
